Speakers
Are you an avid gamer, artist, writer, or otherwise sci-fi/fantasy fanatic? We’re currently accepting applications for speakers and event leaders at Conquer Con. This is a prime way to build your network and reach an audience that’s already crazy about your genre. We consider applicants who can display a professional manner in front of a crowd, plan a complete course from start to finish, and help us reach prospective visitors.
What that means is, we want people who are striving to build a career or strong presence in their field and who will treat their time with us with ambition. We want our speakers to take charge of their task and plan their time well. A speaker must be able to construct a 30-60 minute session focusing on the topic of their choice. Some examples of things we’d like to see:
- Themed workshop: set up a class on worldbuilding, creative writing, drawing, cosplay, etc.
- Q&A panel: pair up with others in your field and answer some questions about your experience.
- Lecture: stand up and give a talk about the things you know.
- Activity: nobody says your event needs to be a speech! Teach a craft, organize a game, quiz us with some trivia, have fun with it.
We also ask that our speakers use their current social media presence and in-person network to draw more guests. Marketing is important for you and it’s important for us and, in an effective partnership, we can work together to make this event a fun, valuable experience for everyone.
